Course Redesign with Technology

The redesign plan will operate within the following frameworks:

 

Demographics and Student Characteristics

CSULB has a very diverse student population and is recognized as a Hispanic Serving Institution with 29.2% of the student body reporting as Latino or Hispanic. Many students are first generation college students and come from underrepresented and underserved minority groups. More than half of CSU students are students of color. One-third of undergraduates are the first in their families to attend college, three out of four students work more than 20 hours per week, and 49 percent of undergraduates are Pell recipients (need-based grants for low-income undergraduates).

 

The redesign plan is to engage students with the material and with each other as much as possible, while using flipped technology to provide affordable learning solutions to reinforce course content.
